Hello,
I want to start using the automated release of production orders by setting up an automated Job that triggers based on the "Scheduled Release" date. However, I've noticed that component availability is checked for the "Order Start" date rather than the "Scheduled Release" date. This creates a risk of missing parts when the automated job is triggered to release the order.
One solution I considered is setting a "Float Before Production" to push the scheduled start date earlier. This approach means I wouldn't use the "Release Period" in the scheduling margin key.
The challenge is that we produce daily outputs, which are reflected in the MRP through the distribution key (GLEI). If I set a "Float Before Production," the output gets distributed over the period before the scheduled start of operations, which isn't desirable since no output will occur in that period.
What is the best approach to address this situation while maintaining accurate production scheduling and material availability?
