Reference Functional Location in S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to work with "Reference Locations" in the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud within the Asset Management area. My question is mainly driven by finding the "Reference Location" field in the technical location master, as well as the ability to change the "Reference Location" in Additional Functions. However, despite finding this, I have not been able to find any Fiori App dedicated to the creation of "Reference Locations".

Hi Esnowy,

Fiori apps to create reference Functional Locations are not supported in Public Cloud (Tcodes IL11 etc). It looks like some of the other Web Dynpro apps do refer to them still (as per your screenshot) which could be confusing.

This has also been discussed in the following SAP note: 3009716 - Reference Location apps ( Create , Change , Display ) missing in S4HANA Cloud 

I also can't see that anyone has raised it as a Customer Influence request, so if you feel it needs to be added, please raise one: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, Asset Management - All Requests

Hi, my commentary above was in relation to SAP S/4HANA PUBLIC Cloud Edition.

If you are a SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud or On-Premise customer, you can continue to use the IL11 transaction code.

The URL you have mentioned from the FIORI Apps reference library is a SAP GUI for HTML app that is rendering the transaction code: link 

Note that there are planned innovations on the roadmap for Private Cloud as well for Reference Structures, mainly:

• Reference equipment as a technical object - Currently planned for Q1 2026.
• Hierarchy structure view for reference structures - Currently planned for Q4 2026.

Please refer to the roadmap directly for any latest dates and timings.
