Good afternoon.
I have created the scenario you can see in the bellow attached images. Planning strategy is 40, Independent requirements type is VSF). Inependent requirement is reduced by the sales order amount. However, when i run MRP system creates 1 planned order for the complete quantity, and not one for the sales order and one for the PIR. Any idea why is that? Should it be this way? I have seen Krishnendu's similar examle (
but i can not reproduce it... Any suggestions?
Best regards,
Dr. Nikos Giannopoulos

Hi Nikos
Which lot sizing procedure are you using? Try again using lot sizing procedure EX, without any rounding value or minimum lot size on the material master.

Hello Nikos,
Please check your Sales order requirement type, It should be KSV for planning strategy 40.
Also check the Consumption mode and Consumption Period, base on this data PIR is reduce when sales order comes.
Please check SAP note 1715491 for same issue..
Please check and revert
I hope this information helpful to you

Good evening Umesh!
I would have to disagree with you. The PIR type should be VSF, as in standard strategy 40 configuration. KSV should be the type of sales order requirements. Both stand true in my case. The problem was in the lot size, as Caetano suggested.
In any case, i do thank you for your reply!
Best regards,
Nikos
