Hi all,

I wonder if there is a way to read a pdf or any other format invoice into sap without having to manually scan it in.

Hi Johan,

You may consider deployment of "LiveLink for SAP Solutions" (older versions of this solution are known under iXOS brand).

It will require setup of LiveLink Archive server, where your files will be stored, and then linked to SAP documents, e.g. invoices, via various archiving scenarios:

Supported list of scenarios includes:

- SAP ArchiveLink interface;

- Content Management Service in the KPro (Knowledge Provider) infrastructure

- ODMA (Open Document Management API) interface

- Generic object services (GOS)

- SAP Records Management

- SAP PLM Document Management System (DMS) (SAP R/3 only)

- Data exchange with SAP Mobile Clients

For your particular case, you may use ODMA interface, as it supports arhcing of various documents from any Windows application, incl. Acrobat Reader.

Please, advise whether it answer you question ? If yes, award the points accordingly

Best regards,

Hi Laziz

I read your reply and have a document explaining Livelink.

Our use will be for HR records - things like doctor's certificates, identity documents etc.

The question is - is there any additional cost involved - I'm assuming we'll have to set up a separate server (infrastructure cost), but does Livelink come standard with something like R/3 4.6 or mySAP ERP 2005?
