Re-open Reservation after component scrap during production

Hello Experts,

We have a scenario where the production deals with unplanned component scraps.

For ex: a production order has a component requirement of 100 pieces. Once this order is created, the 100 piece reservation can be seen for the component. After material staging and GI the reservation is closed against the component material.

During the order confirmation production has issues with the components and decides to scrap 50 pieces from the orignal 100. We use 531 to bring it back in 901 and later scrap them.

Now is there a way to open the 50 pieces which were scrapped so that MRP considers this 50 pieces which are still requried to complete the production order ?

These are not planned scrap quantities so we do not maintain any %s in the master data.

Thanks,

Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,

As i understood you are issuing 100 quantity of raw materials to production - (261- i think) and due to quality issues you are bringing back 50 ( using 531) . .

now you want this 50 to be considered as Normal stock .

Could you please confirm why you are using - 531 instead 262 .

531 is by product GR , even this also update inventory that again can be a available stock why system not considering this inventory .

Thanks & regards,

Mahesh kumar.

Hi Mahesh,

Thanks for your reply.

As i understood you are issuing 100 quantity of raw materials to production - (261- i think) and due to quality issues you are bringing back 50 ( using 531)

We use 531 to take the components out of the production order and later scrap them or let's say we directly scrap them using 551. So technically the 50 pieces are scrapped and out of our inventory.

Now the question is, will the MRP still factor the 50 pieces which are required by the production order ? We need 50 more component pieces to complete the order.

Thanks,

Sandeep
