Question about Third Party Logistics Outbound Process in SAP Business ByDesign:

We plan to implement 3PL Request transmission to our warehouse, but need to exclude certain customers from this process - specifically our To-C EC Site drop-shipping customers. For these EC Site sales, order fulfillment will be handled in an external system, with only the final Sales Order and Invoice data being registered in ByDesign retroactively.

Is there a way to create Outbound Deliveries for specific customers without generating 3PL Requests? Ideally, we'd like to manually register Outbound Deliveries in ByDesign without triggering 3PL Request transmission to the warehouse.
Looking forward to your insights on this configuration requirement.

Dear Customer,

In ByDesign, it is impossible to create a 3PL outbound delivery without a 3PL request created in advance.

If this To-C EC Site is a supplier rather than a warehouse provider, then the "drop-shipping" scenario is more like third-party order scenario instead of third-party logistics scenario. If this is the case, then you can consider apply third-party order scenario. Please refer to help document "Third-Party Order Processing": https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_BUSINESS_BYDESIGN/2754875d2d2a403f95e58a41a9c7d6de/2cf031bf722d10148c1...

If this To-C EC Site is a consign rather than a warehouse provider, then the "drop-shipping" scenario is more like customer consignment scenario instead of third-party logistics scenario. If this is the case, then you can consider apply customer consignment scenario. Please refer to help document "Customer Consignment": https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_BUSINESS_BYDESIGN/2754875d2d2a403f95e58a41a9c7d6de/abce6e684def4757a4d...

If this To-C EC Site could be an internal site, and you only want three things in document flow: sales order, outbound delivery, customer invoice. In this case, you can also consider over-the-counter sales scenario. Please refer to help document "Quick Guide for Over-the-Counter Sales": https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_BUSINESS_BYDESIGN/2754875d2d2a403f95e58a41a9c7d6de/2ddde9e9722d10149fd...

First of all, thank you for your response. That is very sad news. By the way, when creating an Outbound Delivery manually, you need to manually input both the External Delivery ID and External Delivery Item ID, right? This is very troublesome and customers get angry about it. Please tell me the solution, or how to input these automatically.

Dear Customer, when creating 3PL outbound delivery manually, you need to maintain External Delivery ID and External Delivery Item ID manually. I believe only through custom solution can you maintain these automatically.
