Queries regarding Data migration approach for PM Data objects

Dear Members,

1. As part of data migration approach using LTMC migration cockpit, team is trying to ascertain if there are any fields available in following master and transactional data from Plant Maintenance Point of view which can be used to populate the Legacy number from ECC system.

1. Equipment
2. Maintenance Plan
3. Notification
4. Work Order.

Client wants to know if there are any SAP provided guidance / best practices on this as to use which data field to map Legacy number.

2. Is there a possibility in LTMC, to extract the Legacy object field along with the new number created for a data object directly from LTMC cockpit.

After the data migration, you can download the mapping steps for the order . It will have the source and target system linkage. Or you can also use extensibility or add a custom field or make use of any non used standard field (text field like text, reference etc.) to store the same.

If you are using the extensibility for the Maintenance Order object. Then you can add custom fields to store the legacy object numbers and furter the data migration objects get automatically updated with  the added custom list of fields.
