Queries around Cloud ready mode in sap MDG on S4 HANA 2023

Hello All,

Our system is being upgraded to S/4 Hana 2023 on premise. We are planning to implement a Cloud Ready Mode for Business partner (Customer and Supplier). I do have a few queries about it.

1. Currently we are using Ariba SLP for onboarding Suppliers. Is MDG Cloud Ready Mode supports Ariba SLP integration?
2. How derivation and validation across entity types works in Cloud-ready mode. Do single-entity and across-entity Badis (USMD_RULE_SERVICE) are supported in Cloud-ready mode?
3. In Automation workflow can system trigger the validation at request submission stage, or a separate step would be required in the workflow? In the current process (Rube base workflow) it does the validation at the Change Request submission stage.
4. How can we enable a set of fields at each workflow steps (e.g. four level of approvers) in automation workflow?
5. Can you please provide the product (Material) release date for support in Cloud Ready Mode?
6. In product/Material Cloud Ready Mode- Is classic classification will be supported for material class (001) in classic mode?

1. Integration with SLP is supported as well more or less in the same way like for classic mode. However, in cloud-ready mode there is a dedicated process type for 'Inbound processing' which you should use instead of using Central Governance / Consolidation processes.
2. Validation rules are defined via BRF+-based rules framework integrated into all MDG processes including central governance. BADIs are not supported in cloud-ready mode, however functionality of above mentioned framework should cover use cases as well.
3. Custom validations are executed during request level as well. Nevertheless all processes contain a validation step before activation in order to make a final check and ensure consistency.
4. Sorry, can you describe  the requirement a little bit more in detail.
5. We are just starting development of cloud-ready mode for Product master. Unfortunately, I cannot share any target date at the moment. Please also look into the roadmap for MDG, however also this does not yet contain any concrete date.
6. Yes, we plan to support classification for Product. However, as said we cannot give any concrete date at the moment.
