Hello All,
I have been trying to identify the reason for not updating the quantity filed in document ledger view from KO88/CO88 settlement process. Quanity field is updating in ACDOCA table or in FAGLFLEXA table during all the other production process such as goods issue and confirmation. But during the settlement process not quanity field is updating in the system. I have tested this scenario both in S4hana and ECC system and got the similar results in both the test case. Only BSEG table us updating the quantity field during the settlement run. Does any one has any idea about this issue?
Request clarification before answering.
Hello,
Settlement (KO88/CO88) is primarily a value flow process. Its main purpose is to distribute or transfer costs (and sometimes revenues) from a cost object (like a production order or internal order) to various other controlling objects (like CO-PA, G/L accounts, fixed assets, etc.). It's about "where the money goes," not typically about "how much product was moved." mybkexperience com
Goods movements (Goods Issue, Goods Receipt, Confirmations) are inherently quantity-based. When you issue raw materials or receive finished goods, you are physically moving a quantity of material, which directly impacts inventory and cost of goods manufactured/sold.

Hello, Thanks for your kind reply. I agree with your suggestion. But if that is the case then why system is updating the same quantity field in the BSEG line item both in S4hana and ECC environments. Also I have noted that copa line items in the costing based copa is updating the quantity information for the same settlement document. But no quantity information is updating in account based copa
Hi @msshihab1987 ,
Please refer to KBA note 27922 - Info: Settlement types and quantity settlement - SAP for Me
If account-based profitability analysis is used, the logic for updating consumption quantities is the same as described above...
...the system updates primary cost element quantities and activity quantities if these are settled according to the cost element or if the settlement cost element has a unit of measure. If only the quantities for the revenue elements are required in the profitability analysis, then only the revenue elements should be settled according to the cost element because this generates a large amount of data.
I hope it helps.

Filipe
