QA08 Activate despite of Stock is not creating NEW inspection lot for QI stock without lots

Hi Everybody,

We are moving material from Plant A of Company C1 to Plant B of Company C2 via Purchase Order.

1. When the material is received at Plant B, there should be no Inspection Lot, and the material should go to UNRESTRICTED

2. This should happen only if the supplier is Plant A

3. In case of any other vendor, the system should create Inspection Lot and move the stock to QI stock

We have made the following settings:

1. Inspection Type 01 is active for the material

2. Post to insp stock check box is checked for Inspection Type 01

3. QM proc active check box is not checked in QM view of Material Master

4. Q-Info record is maintained for material, Plant A and Plant B combination

5. In the Q-Info record Insp. controls has the value 'No Inspection'

6. GR is with reference to Inbound Delivery in VL32N.

7. We have Packing and Handling Units linked

The requirement is as follows.

1. Before implementing the above said scenario for some reason stock went to QI without lots and we need this to get transferred into unrestricted or to create valid inspection lot.

2. I expected QA08 transaction can help us in create inspection lots by using 'Activate despite of stock' option with inspection type '01', '08' or '0800'.

3. But this didn't create NEW lot for QI stocks without lots.

Is QA08 really has this functionality?

Since we are working with Inbound delivery and packing with HU, reverse posting of document is hectic.

Any work around?

Hi, You need to check you Plant level Settings for Insp Lot Creation.

@dineshudl  I would recommend to cancel material document and bring back stock to original state to move further. Foy posting QM involved it would need an inspection lot. I am assuming there are no option exist in QA08, as it was master data assignment for mass item.

@dineshudl  As a part of data migration, I would recommend to move the all stock from A to B without any inspection process, as it might be already inspected in plant A. Carry out same inspection at plant B will not be making any value to the company.

@dineshudl The configurations is correct, but i set "no inspection" in tab inspection control on QM INFO for plants A and B on purchase process and check supriment QM type configuration on material master for assurance it works.

Hi Prasath, Thank you for your feedback, and I apologize for any confusion. My concern is that some stock has already been transferred to Quality Inspection (QI) without lots due to a settings gap. I would like to move this stock to unrestricted status by creating and processing a new inspection lot using QA08, as mentioned above. If you have any alternative methods for moving this stock to unrestricted without creating a lot, please let me know. Thanks, Dinesh Kumar V
