Dear Gurus,

Is Purchasing Info Record a necessary step before a creation of subcontracting PO.

If YES then why and what is required.

If not essential what are it's impacts

Hi Arul,

During subcontract order creation, system reads the labor charge from the info record. Create Info record with item category subcontracting and provide labor charges for the item(s).

Hi,

As other experts have provided their view from my perspective one of the important reasons why I think you would need a purchase info record for subcontracting PO, is specially when you want to send the components to the vendor. In purchase info record you assign production version. This shall facilitate in the selection of required components to the vendor automatically during the creation of PO.

Yes or No. It's based on your organization need.

You can do PO without info record also.

If you have not maintained info record data of the Material, Vendor will copy from the respective Master data. Pricing conditions you need maintain while doing PO.

Incase of Special Procurement Consignment and Pipeline suggested to maintain because Vendor Price will pick from info record while owning or consumption time.

It may not be mandatory. However, it helps a lot if an inforecord is created for transactional purposes. There are three ways to make Info Records mandatory in PO

1. Field selection (T Code OLME)

2. Screen / Transaction variant( T Code SHD0)

3. Own development.
