Public Cloud TM: prevent freight unit creation for PO (e.g. based on shipping condition)

Hello,

the freight unit creation for purchase orders (POs) considers the following document data: purchasing org, purchasing group, document type.

Unfortunately, these settings are too high-level for our business requirements: we'd prefer to include incoterms and/or at least the shipping condition as criteria for freight unit creation yes/no.

With the "Freight unit building rule condition", it is possible to use additional criteria (e.g. shipping condition) to determine the FU building rule, however, obviously, one cannot control whether the FU is created at all.

This seems to be meant with "If you have not specified an FUB rule, the system uses standard settings." in the SAP help: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/61e246f4b34c4e1790d8b7651c0b40a8/ffe2c7b83a494e88b0b76d6a...

In S/4 private cloud, one can use BADIs "BADI_LO_TM_PUR/...SHP/...SLS" to influence the result of the determination of the logistic integration profile - which can also be used to prevent FU creation (by removing the determined profile). However, this BADI is not available in public cloud.

Any idea on how to prevent the FU creation for POs in public cloud?

The is the "beauty" of the public cloud. It is "take it or leave it" solution, no custom enhancements. 

I guess you would need to use a dedicated purchasing group. By the way using a purchasing group which is meant to model buyers, to control TM integration is a weird idea in itself.

Dear Dominik,

thanks for your reply. As you've mentioned, creating duplicate purchasing groups could solve this, but from my perspective, this is not a proper solution. For my customers, the buyers should not care whether the PO is transport-relevant or not, the system has to decide this based on a ruleset.
