Obrigado!

ENGLISH VERSION

Hi everyone,

We are starting the implementation of Brazil localization in our SAP S/4HANA RISE (Private Cloud) system. We have been using SAP for many years and already run several country localizations successfully in our global template.

For the tax/e-invoicing part (NF-e, NFS-e, etc.), we plan to use a third‑party provider integrated with SAP, most likely Avalara (SAP DRC as an alternative).
Does anyone have feedback or real-world experience with these providers in Brazil?

We also have an important question regarding the SAP Brazil localization configuration. Our SAP team is quite mature, so we are wondering:

  • Is it feasible to configure Brazil localization internally?
  • Or is Brazil’s tax and legal complexity high enough that we really need a specialized consulting firm?

Additionally, we’d like to know how long it typically takes to implement Brazil localization, considering SD, FI and MM.
Our scenario: we will purchase goods (mainly from Taiwan) and sell them in Brazil, but we will not manufacture locally. Sales will be B2B.

Any insights about complexity, typical pitfalls or recommendations for global teams working with Brazil would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @deiamolina ,

BR Localization comes with its own set of complexity & covers the below to start with:

  1. Core / base BR localization Foundation (Set of SAP note deployment & BC Set activations)
  2. Tax Reform Components
  3. Relevant Best Practices Package for BR company code

Then depending upon your scenario & solution opted additional components like a) Advanced Compliance Reporting b) Tax Declaration Framework c) Brazil-DRC specific notes in S/4

This needs thoroughly evaluation based on:

  1. Current In-flight projects
  2. S/4 upgrade conflicting with BR localization timelines
  3. Current Release Mgmt.

It is recommended to opt for SAP Max Attention support and secure a BR specialist who can guide you through this implementation & first try this out in a separate Sandbox environment to gauge the efforts, complexity & sequencing.

Hope this give you a starting point to start navigating through this topic.
