Hello experts,
in ECC 6.0, i have a scenario where the distribution key GLEI is leading to a different output in MD04 as desired, please see below the example scenario:
| Total Qty of production order = 20,000 pieces |
| Distribution key = equal distribution (GLEI) |
| in-house production time = 2,000 pieces per day |
| Workdays (factory calendar) = from Monday to Friday |
| Planned production time = 10 days |
| Scheduling: Forwards in time |
initial Result in MD04:
| Date | Order | Distributed Qty MD04 |
| Sept. 01, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 02, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 03, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 04, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 05 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 08, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 09, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 10, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 11, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
| Sept. 12, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 2,000 |
So far, so good.
Now, 5 days of production are already over and we have a delivered qty of 10.000 pcs. On Sept. 08, 2025, the planning department is changing the total qty of production order, from 20.000 to new value 22.000 pieces, since they want to add one additional production day and the end date should be Sept. 15, 2025.
With the change of the total qty, SAP is changing the basic start date as well. Initially, the value was Sept. 01, 2025, but since the Start Date is not allowed to be in the past, the new basic start date is now changed to Sept. 08, 2025.
We would still expect to see for each day from Sept. 08 until Sept. 15 a distributed daily qty of 2000 pcs. But in reality, SAP is providing an output in MD04 which is not reflecting our reality:
Example SAP output after the change:
| Date | Order | Distributed Qty MD04 |
| Sept. 08, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 0 |
| Sept. 09, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 0 |
| Sept. 10, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 0 |
| Sept. 11, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 3,200 |
| Sept. 12, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 4,400 |
| Sept. 15, 2025 | prod. order 5555 | 4,400 |
So yes, SAP is realizing we have 12.000 pcs remaining which should be produced. But the distribution with GLEI is not working properly after the start date was changed to current date. In my opinion, SAP checks the amount of days from Start to End Date and calculates the complete Order Qty (22.000) divided by days. Then, it is "deleting" the quantities which are already delivered (thats why we don´t see any GR on Sept. 08, 09, and Sept 10). Instead, it should consider the remaining order qty (target qty - delivered qty = 12000 pcs) and distribute then with GLEI for the remaining 6 days.
Do you guys have any idea how we could prevent this to happen? Any solution to help us getting a better picture in MD04?
