Production order settlement

Dear Expert ,

During settlement of production order for November by CO88  , I notice that the orders of  October coming also as to be settled

I choose only Settlement Period 11 2013  , why this orders in October coming as they already settled  ?

Hi Rami,

You said that particular orders have been settled in October, but still you see they are considered for the November settlement. The reason is......

1. Some postings have been done:
   • If the order status is delivered: may be issue of material, confirmation, revaluation of activities or actual OH calculation
   • If the order status is TECO: revaluation of activities or actual OH calculation
2. Settlement type is FUL in the settlement rule for the orders: By this system is considering the order balances of October, in the settlement period of November also

So, you need to check the orders status and also whether any postings are done after settlement in the October period (use the transaction code KOB1 for easy analysis).

PRECAUTION:

In order to avoid these kind of situations, please when the order status is DLV or TECO, do settlement and check the order balance is ZERO (normally it will be) and once you make sure that no further activities (postings) are performed against the order, please make sure the order is CLOSED.

The concept of period lock (OKP1) suggested by Big Choi is the right one to avoid wrong postings to either closed periods or future periods.

But rarely wrong postings happen to closed periods. The major reason for this situation in your case would be revaluation of activities/prices if you are using it.

Closing the orders is a good practice which has a great impact on system performance at month end closings activities.

Hi ,

Thanks for all response ,

I revoke one of the orders and try settle it again to ensure there's no posting has been done and I got this message  ' Either the sender is already settled, or there is nothing to settle '

My issue is during the collective processing by  CO88  for period 11 system consider the whole orders in period  10 and generate error message ' Sender is opened or closed - settlement not possible '

How to ignore the closed order in pervious period with status closed ??

I wish to just add one more point to your opinion (though not much in the context of this thread).

We need to set DLFG (deletion flag) to order status to avoid those orders being read in future for period end closing processes. This also helps performance improvement.

Closed orders are still read (shown as error messages) during period end cycles

Correct me if I am wrong

Hi Rami,

That can be possible!! If you have any open orders for October, will be settled in November 2013. The only difference is - those October orders cost will be shown in November.

If an order is settled in one period then has it status altered in a preceding period, you will see it settle again. Duplication can occur but not altogether certain what actions have to occur on the order for duplication to occur. Best practice is one an order is closed, final confirmation, it should be put to TECO or DLV status. Typically you can see a user name for someone who does this or undoes it.

Hi..

If other people involuntarily occurred  October’s transactions in order after October settlement job, you can meet this situation.

To prevent this situation, you should execute period lock using t-code okp1 after closing job.

Hi Experts,

In addition to above can you suggest how we can know if the order has been settled or not. And the closed status does we have to manually closed the order or it will automatically get closed after settlement has been done.
