Product drilldown reporting: create additional characteristic

Hi,

using product cost by order information system (T code KKO3, report 7-KA2-K-K1) I can see for some SAP delivered characteristics (eg material, cost component) all variance categories (in the columns).

What I want to achieve is an additional characteristic u201Coriginu201D which reports the variance categories based on there origin (eg combination of cost center / activity type, or plant/raw material in the report rows, variance categories in the report columns).

Origin can be seen when executing variance calculation (KKS2) in the detailed list per cost element when adding the field u201Coriginu201D in the ALV-Layout.

This characteristic u201Coriginu201D is also available in the KKBC_HOE analysis (pre defined summarization hierarchy) but when double-clicking a cell in a report layout with columns u201Cvariance categoriesu201D and rows u201Coriginu201D the displayed u201Cobject listu201D does not contain the variance details anymore (SAP told me due to performance reasons) and this kind of report does not have the drilldown functionality like the drilldown reports.

Unfortunately I did not find a way to create this additional characteristic to be used in the product drilldown reports, it can not be done using OKQ3 and I doubt that it can be created using CT04 T-code.

How to create this characteristic?

I have a similar problem : I would like to add the profit center as a new characteristic in KKO0.

Any idea?

Hi Christian,

OKQ3 and CT04 are definetely not the options

As far as I know, KKO reports use the structure RWCOOM... If you go to GRCT and display the database tables for RWCOOM, it gives you a list of all tables that RWCOOM uses... I checked all of them now, but could not find MATNR any where.. Though Act type is present in many of them

My clients have similar req as yours... I tried my hand, but gave it up... You will need to enhance the structure RWCOOM to achieve this.. Either by way of adding a table or enhancing the existing structures of RWCOOM

Some hint on enhancing RWCOOM can be had by ref Note 407739 - RWCOOM: Enhancement by characteristic BELTP....

I would like to be a part of your endeavour as it is one of the things I could not accomplish due to shortage of time

Hi Ajay,

this is solved now.

I've guided my client to create a SAPNET message and the final result was SAPNET note 1514091(thanks to the development support) which delivers a modification for KKO0 reports to have origin type / origin as characteristics in the drilldown reports.

I've implemented the necessary changes and it works fine.

As per today, the note is not released officially but I guess this is just a matter of time...

I must say, and i would like to know how, you are a huge / rich / sweet repository of SAP notes...

I tried to find the note you mentioned on service.sap.com but it seems to still be not official. Could you share what are the required steps to modify KKO0 reports?
