PPDS Top Down Requirement in past date

Hi,

The issue is the following. I have a requirement with a past date (20.07.2021) and a production order to fullfil it with a future date (30.08.2021). Today is 22.07.2021.

When the top down heuristic is executed, the production order is not rescheduled and an error message is shown warning that the eqquirement is in the past.

It is supposed, a least I read it at SAP help, that the heuristic has to reschedule the order with the less delay possible. So, it is supposed that, despite the requirement is in the past, the heuristic should reschedule the production order forward from today.

What's the behaviour expected?

As per the documentation of the top down heuristic; "Moving Requirement Dates After the heuristic has determined which requirements can or cannot be covered by the available receipts, it tries to move the requirement dates for the requirements of the PP/DS orders (as well as the activities assigned to the requirements elements): If a requirement can be covered, the heuristic moves the requirement date to the latest receipt date of the receipt that is assigned to the requirement. However, this is only allowed if the direction in which the requirement date is to be moved (future or past) is defined in the heuristic settings.",

I would suggest you to check the date Shift settings in your heuristics. also there is a check box for write evaluation checking that and then running shall provide you more details about the results.

I would also suggest you to check the strategy settings and check the scheduling offset field and provide a time in minutes in the past enabling the rescheduling to happen in the past.

Hi Sasi,

It doesn't work. I cannot achieve to close the dates to today. If the requirement is in the past, the system cancel the rescheduling of the production order and maintains the original dates despite of trying to close de gap dates.
