Posting period locked; specify an alternative date [Message 131 – 107]

This issue happen randomly, so far happen to non superuser ID only, when the user create new service call, encounter error message 'Posting period locked; specify an alternative date [Message 131 – 107]', but the fact is the posting period is 'unlocked'.

Here's the scenario:

1. Non superuser id create new service call, when tried to add, encounters error message 'Posting period locked; specify an alternative date [Message 131 – 107]'.

2, Another non superuser id login to the same PC or different PC to try create new service call, also encounter the same error message 'Posting period locked; specify an alternative date [Message 131 – 107]'.

3. Superuser login whether to the same PC or differenct PC to create new service call, the service call can be added without error.

4. Susequently, the non superusers have no problem edit the service call.

Any idea what cause the issue? Is this a system bug?

Hi,

Just to make a closure to this question.

We referred the issue to SAP, the reported scenario has already been reported to them by other customers. Unfortunately, they SAP could not identified the root cause, since it has appeared randomly for random users. This issue has not occurred on later patches of 9.3 version. One of their customer has confirmed that it does not happen again after upgraded to PL09 of 9.3. SAP suggest to upgrade to the latest patch of 9.3 HANA.

We solved the issue posting two months later on september instead of july which was when the invoice was issued. Also we tried to post on august but the same error appeared.

I referred the issue to SAP, there is already 3 other customers reported the same issue to them, unfortunately, as the issue happens randomly, SAP also cannot reproduce the issue and as such cannot identified the root cause.

SAP said that one of their customer upgraded to PL9 of 9.3, since then they never encounter the issue anymore.

2 .Your numbering series for this docuement as well as for JE.

perhaps you are using a numbering series that not all users have permissions. Check this.

In that case, user will not able to open document.Here user facing issue while adding transaction.

there is only one default numbering for service call and all users have the authorization.

Please check in Posting period, may be your "May" month period has been locked so you are unable to post the transaction.

If not, try with relogin.

Please revert on above if issue not resolved.
