Posting period locked error on poeriod end closing

Dear Experts,

I try to complete Period End closing procedure , for that all posting periods status (month wise) updated on *Closing Period* and also checked all the GL Accounts involved in Period End closing are Active.

Still I while Closing Period I am getting this error *Posting period locked; specify an alternative date [Message 131-107]*

What could be the possible reason behind this error.

Kindly suggest the solution.

Hi,

You have to change first month of financial period to unlocked or closing period. For example, if you are performing year end closing for year 2018, the Jan-2019 should be closing period or unlocked period.

Dear Sundararaja,

Thank you for your kind help. Actually problem was that the next FY first month period was locked which was preventing to book JE for date of 01-04-19. Its solved now.

Hello,

Please update the respective posting period status from 'Closing Period' to 'Unlocked', then you won't get this error.
