PO Reversal with HUs that have been unpacked

Hi All

We have an issue whereby we have processed a goods receipt in to a HUM Plant and SLoc.

We have auto-packing and an HU was created for the 3 materials that we receipted.

Then the 3 materials were issued to a network reservation and in doing so they were unpacked and the 3 materials issued successfully.

Now we have to reverse the original goods receipt for the 3 materials.

Firstly, we have brought in the 3 materials in to stock from the original network reservation demand. This has created new HUs for the 3 materials (3 HUs created, 1 per material)

Now when we try to use VL09 to reverse the original Inbound Delivery, we get the message

'Handling units have been changed. No cancellation possible' (Message No. HUDIALOG304)

How can I reverse a GR PO where the original HUs have been unpacked?

Can I re-use the original HUs?

Hello Darren,

the issue you're facing is a restriction from the system point of view to be able to keep the data consistent. For more detials please read the following KBA: 1790073 - Unable to reverse STO delivery through VL09 with HU's

I copy for you the most important parts:

It is not possible to reverse a goods movement with HU's if the HU has been subsequently changed (further updates can be seen in the HU history). Please review SAP Note 687257. Please review also the SAP Library documentation at path: Logistics -> Logistics - General -> Handling Unit Management -> Goods Movements with Handling Units -> Reversing Goods Movements for HUs

************************************************************************ Prerequisites Handling units that were involved in goods movement postings may not be changed after the material posting. This includes repacking as well as assignment to a document. For handling units only the document that was posted most recently can be reversed. ************************************************************************

Solution: When you want to reverse the stock transfer, you must trigger a stock transfer process in the opposite direction.

And finally the answer to your question, it's not possible to use again the original HUs for reversal. You need to apply some kind of modification but there is nothing available now.
