Hello SAP Gurus.

We are doing a new plant rollout in India. My client already has created India as a company code and they do have existing plant and business place.

Now they wants to create a new plant under the same company code, but they are asking us to create a separate business place with same GSTIN to east their internal reporting.

Note: both the plants are from Hyderabad and they want to use same GSTIN to create another business place as well.

Please help me here. Is is okay to create plant wise business place with same GSTIN. What will be the configuration steps. Will there be any accounting affect.

Hello,

Absolutely, I can guide you through the process. Here's what you can do to accommodate your client's requirement:

1. **Business Place Configuration**:
- You can indeed create plant-specific business places under the same company code with the same GSTIN. This setup allows for separate reporting while maintaining consistency in tax filings.
- In SAP, you'll need to create a new business place for the new plant. You can do this using transaction code **OX18**. Specify the plant and assign the same GSTIN as the existing business place.

2. **Configuration Steps**:
- First, navigate to transaction code **OX18**.
- Select the country IN (India) and the company code for which you want to create a new business place.
- Enter the new business place details, including the plant and the same GSTIN as the existing business place.
- Save the configuration.

3. **Accounting Impact**:
- From an accounting perspective, creating a new business place under the same company code shouldn't have significant effects. The transactions will still be captured under the same company code.
- However, it's essential to ensure that all relevant tax codes and accounting configurations are correctly set up for the new business place to avoid any discrepancies in reporting or compliance.

4. **Verification**:
- Once the configuration is done, it's crucial to verify the setup thoroughly. Test transactions in the new plant to ensure that tax calculations and reporting are functioning correctly.
- Additionally, cross-check the reporting requirements with your client to confirm that the new setup meets their internal reporting needs.

By following these steps, you should be able to create a new plant with a separate business place under the same company code while using the same GSTIN. If you have any further questions or need assistance with specific configuration steps, feel free to ask!
