Hi gurus,
I'm finding it difficult to understand the below statement and wanted to know what exactly is a 'non-fixed procurement proposal' and why would MRP propose a non-fixed quanity? Would be good if you could give me some example scenarios please. Thank you.
"This planning mode indicator specifies how non-fixed procurement proposals from the last planning run are handled in the next planning run. Fixed procurement proposals remain unchanged".

A "non-fixed procurement proposal" is a procurement proposal i.e. planned order or purchase requisition that is not fixed or firmed. Fixed procurement proposals are indicated with a * next to their numbers in stock/requirements lists. Firming occurs when a procurement proposal is changed manually or if it is within production planning time fence and if MRP type with firming type (P1 - P4 MRP types in standard configuration) is used:
