Planned order not consuming inventory

Hello Experts,

We are creating a CIR and post MRP, for components it creates a planned order, but it do not consume existing stock, rather it creates planned order for whole quantity.

Please suggest settings we should do so that it should consume stock first and then create planned order if needed.

Hello

You are using a make-to-order planning strategy/requirement type, therefore, system won't consider existing stock and it will always generate a new planned order.

I suggest you to use a make-to-stock planning strategy (like 40) and then try with a new CIR.

It's difficult to tell what is happening because you did not provide many details about this issue. 

Can you please attach a screenshot of MD04 to illustrate the planning situation?
