pick point functionality

I like to use the functionality around a pick point. Full HU needs to be picked from the warehouse. A part of the HU will be picked on a pick HU, which will be transferred to the production area. The rest of the HU needs to be returned to the warehouse. This was always done with the use of a pick point but I cannot find the right customising setting for the pick point in cloud

Hi,

As far as I know there's no pick point functionality in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition.

But there is something called - Layout-oriented storage control. Layout-oriented storage control allows you to define intermediate storage bins in order to move products from a source bin to a destination bin using an intermediate location (for example, because change of equipment is required or change of carrier handling unit)

May be that could help you with your requirement.

Hi,

I see in https://learning.sap.com/courses/resource-management-in-sap-ewm/setting-up-layout-oriented-storage-c... that pick points should be working from the layout oriented storage control functionality. My goal is to pick the full HU to the pick point and take the components there. However, so far I have not been able to create the task from the source storage bin to the pick point when i want to pick a partial HU. This seems to happen because it is not recognised in the warehouse task that a HU is involved in picking. 

Also, the storage type roles in SAP s4 Hana public cloud are named differently according to the below list. 

Where should I start to investigate further what are the possibilities within public cloud.
