hi Guru
Would like to seek your advice as I get confused when I was told it is not require to post PID via MI07 if no difference for items listed in the PID doc.
I understand that the PID steps as below:-
1) Create PID doc
2) Print PID doc and pass to warehouse user to perform counting
3) Enter Count Qty into PID via MI04 transaction
4) Post PID doc via MI07 transaction if no re-count is required.
However, I was told that if all the items counted in the same PID doc without any difference found, then PID is counted and transaction MI04 is entered and saved. We no need to go through transaction MI07, does it true?
Question:
For a physical inventory document, do we need to perform MI07 although all counted Qty matched with item Qty listed in the PID doc?
Please advise

Hi,
Yes, MI07 is required.
Even though there is no difference between physical count quantity and book quantity, need to post PID using MI07 tarnscation. Then only that particular PID is closed. Other wise this PID is in active status and system won't allow physical inventory for the same material in future.
In this case, SAP won't create any material document. Becuase there is no difference quantity to post.

Hi,
You have to do MI07 evenif the diff in physical and system stok is zero. The system will not create any accounting document and the actual stock will be entered in the storage location.
