Performance issue in XK99 for vendor master (on S/4 HANA)per

Hello everyone,

I am trying to mass update the field LFB1-XEDIP using transaction XK99 on a S/4 HANA system with an active CVI customizing.

We have a 1:1 relationship between business partner and vendor record.

I am now facing a serious performance issue in XK99. The update almost takes one second per record which makes it impossible for me to use. We have more than 500.000 records that need to be mass changed.

Already did a runtime anaylsis using SAT hoping to find some custom developments that are causing this, but unfortunately I could only find standard modules at the top when I sorted by gross time.

Does anyone have the same problem or even better an idea to what might cause this extreme performance issue?

Thank you very much for every input.

Dear Ankush,

thank you for your quick feedback. These are our component versions.

  • S4CORE: 104
  • SAP_ABA: 75E
  • SAP_BASIS: 754

The note 2706017 cannot be implemented for this reason (as it is only available up to S4CORE 103). The note 424635 seems to describe my problem very good. But I find it surprising not to find a SAP standard solution for it.

A mass change transaction (on a HANA system) that is taking multiple days to update several 100.000 records is not really a tool that can be used.

I'm looking into the solution with modification in the user-exit, at the same time I hope someone has some additional ideas.

thanks again for your feedback.

Hi Matthias,

Which product version of SAP S/4HANA are you using? Have you already explored SAP Note - 2706017 - Performance: Unchanged Company codes / Purchasing area / Sales Areas are processed if this is relevant for you?

Additionally, there is already a known consulting SAP Note - 424635 - Long runtime in mass maintenance customer/vendor master. You may check if t implementing the user exit can improve the runtime of mass update.

Best Regards,

Ankush
