Dear HR experts,
Could anyone please share their experience on adjusting Interface Toolbox formats for Payroll Outsourcing which are meant to Produce HROT_xxM IDocs. Those are formats OTMX, OTMU, OTMD and others OTxx.
The thing is that I am faced with dilemma would it be better to adjust SAP standard PU12 format (in given case OTMX) or first clone it to ZTMX and then make the adjustments?
I did already notice that making a clone for such object is quite messy and involves a lot of copying even outside PU12, e.g. custom ABAP reports that are used for given interface format routine exit calls.
On other hand, making modifications in SAP standard format (e.g. OTMX) in PU12 has really poor change management capabilities (or even close to non-existent). So making adjustments that are hard to track isn't as well explicitly good idea.
Furthermore as I understand there are some future risks related to upgrades.
So if anyone can share some experience and thoughts on this issue, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Reinis Dzenis
Request clarification before answering.
Hi
We created different file format for different countries (Since infotypes were different)
Defined to File Layout for each country one for initial load and another for Delta since ADP had different rules around it.

Hi RAjdeep,
Thanks for feedback!
Still I'd like to clarify - did your really created / copied formats which were producing IDocs?
Or you are rather referring to file formats which are simply producing flat file?
This is quite important, since with PU12 interface formats which are producing flat files everything is quite straight forward and there is no question about those. Still with interface formats which produce IDocs everything is more complicated and my question refers specifically to that case.
Regards,
Reinis
