Output Parameter Determination: Default email recipients

Hi,

My question concerns the default email recipients for different types of output. Currently we have the following behaviour in our system:

  • Billing documents: email recipient is default email address from the customer master data (general level).
  • Customer statements + dunning notices: email recipient is the clerk email address from the customer master data (company code level). If this is blank, the default email from the general level is used instead.
  • Supplier payment advice: email recipient is the clerk email address from the supplier master data (company code level). If this is blank, the email address from the general level is NOT used, the email doesn't send.

I'm confused by the inconsistent behaviour and wondered if there was any way to configure it:

  1. For supplier payment advice, if the clerk email address is blank, can it revert to the general email address for the supplier instead (in the same way as customer statements/dunning notices)?
  2. Could billing documents be configured to behave like statements/dunning, i.e. use the clerk email address at the company code level if it's populated?

I've looked at the Output Parameter Determination configuration on the email recipients step... in some cases I can see the use of a constant "Default Email Address":

But this is not always present. Does this have any impact on the behavour we're seeing? Or are there other configurations that couold be put here to look up different email addresses from the master records?

All advice, as ever, much appreciated.

THanks,

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the reply. I've reviewed the document you linked to but it only confirms that by default it is trying to use the clerk internet address. My question is whether it can revert to the general email address for the supplier if the clerk internet address is blank.

Thank,

James
