Open Item Management for Clearing Account for Asset Acquisition in Public Cloud Edition

Dear Community,

it seems that it is not possible to activate open item management for the clearing account for asset acquisitions in S4 Hana Public Cloud. If open item managment is active for that account, an error message will be raised when posting acquisitions (with automatic offsetting). 

The error message states 'No open item managed accounts are permitted for posting status U'. Is there any way to circumvent this? 

Open item managment would be very useful in order to ensure that all asset acquisitions posted on this account are cleared. Especially for large numbers of acquisitions this is crucial. If there is no possibility for open item management, what other strategies can be used?
