Hi experts,

When I check for documents regarding Object Information Key  I found-  "this is d best tool in PM. it gives u d info of reference object Equi or FL abt how may orders, notifications, breakdowns, outstanding notifications."

Could some one give me clear picture, If this configuration for displaying last n number of notification or m number of orderswhich were created for last  xxx days. let me know when when this display get initiated?

1)Is it when a notification or order created for a equipment or a functional location of particular category?

2) Is it displays automatically, when n number of notification or m number of orders reached?

3) Is it when we explicitly run any transaction to see n number of notification or m number of orders which were created for last  xxx days?

Also let me know where we can assign each object info key,  wheather to order/ notificationor to equipment/ functional location?

Thank you

1)Is it when a notification or order created for a equipment or a functional location of particular category?

Ans. It doesn't depend upon category of equipment or floc. but you create object information keys and assign the same to notification type and order type. So whenever you try to create notification or order of a particular notification/order type, object information gets displayed on the screen as a pop-up.

2) Is it displays automatically, when n number of notification or m number of orders reached?

Ans. Yes, you can set up this information in time frame and threshold values in spro

3) Is it when we explicitly run any transaction to see n number of notification or m number of orders which were created for last  xxx days?

Ans. Using object information, you can only display last 5 notifications or orders for equipment or functional location. The display gets initiated when you process a maintenance/service order and/or maintenance/service notification.

Basically, you need to make settings in configuration node for the object info parameters (screenshot below):

After this you just need to assign the object information key to notification and/or order type.

The customizing path for doing the above setting for notification is: Plant Maintenance and Customer Service>Maintenance and Service Processing>Maintenance and Service Notifications>Notification Processing>Object Information>Define Object Information Keys

Hope this helps!

Just to add one thing to Tajinder's post... If you want the Object Info box to display automatically when creating a notification or work order, make sure the "automatically" checkbox is checked in the screen shown above.

Hi Tajinder,

In  the subscreen "Info.system-time frame nad threshold values".

could you please explain the difference between No. days and Processing days with examples?

If I try to create a order for an equipment which have 3 completed notifications  and 3 outsnd notifications with out any orders. will I get Object information displayed automatically when I add the equipment to order?

or it will be displayed only when all the conditions satisfied?

Thank you

No. days - This is the no. of days counting backwards which system should take into account while counting the parameters mentioned in 'Info. system - time frame and threshold values' i.e. Breakdown reported, Notification created etc. For example notifications created in last 365 days or orders created in last 365 days etc.

Processing days - This is the no. of days from creating a notification to completion of notification. For example you create a notification today and complete it after 10 days, so processing days will be 10.

To display object information automatically, check box 'automatically' as shown in above screenshot must be checked.

To answer your last question, object infomation will get displayed when at least one of the conditions mentioned in the threshold parameters gets satisfied.

So let us interpret how the system should work wrt object info if you set the configuration as shown in the screenshot above:

System will display the object info only when either at least 2 breakdowns are reported, or processing days for notification is 365 days or at least 5 notifications are created or completed, or at least 4 orders are created or completed in the last 365 days.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Hello guys,

I know this thread ist about half year ago, but it deals with my current problem.

As I understood and tested I can control the object information popup with the customizing above.

My problem now is: I have one single notification type 'M3'. When I create a new notification and link the functional location, I only want to see all 'M3' notifications, but not the other ones. Is it possible with customizing or BADI to get this?

Thanks

Hi Michael,

In standard config you cannot do, i guess technically you can achieve

Notification User Exit : ICSV0004

Badi : IWOC_OBJECTINFO_CHNG

I have not done this, i guess you can do. If you need more clear info, kindly raise a new thread

Regards

Terence
