Number range object AENDBELEG is about to complete ??

Hi Friends !!

Need your advice on this ??

Number range object AENDBELEG is about to complete in another one month which is tagged for change documents posting. (CDHDR table entries). Can we use the archived number range or is there a possibility extend the number range or assign the new number range object. ( We have to hold last five year entries as well )

Hello,

Interval 01 of NR object AENDBELEG, is used for change documents identifier number ("changenr" field of tables CDHDR and CDPOS).

The object is defined as rolling (flag "no rolling" is not set) it will start again using the numbers from that interval once exhausted.

The problems that could be faced, would be related to duplicated errors if the old change documents were not archived.

Check that regular archiving for these tables as per note:

1591251 - CD: Archiving change documents
1257133 - CD: Archiving options for CDCLS

This is a maintenance task that should be done on regular basis as these entries are written by the different applications on the system and may grow too fast.

You can have another number range interval like

01 0000000001 9999999999

02 10000000000 19999999999

and that should work

But maximum length allowed is 10 only. So we are not able to extend beyond 9999999999. And SAP is not allowing to increase the length of the number range object as well.

You are right and better option would be archive the change documents.

02 10000000000 19999999999 doe snot work as the length of the data type is char10.
