we have running ECC6.0 with EHP5 on solaris sparc, i have tried to join the system in windows Domain (AD) for web UI services. after that i unable to up the sap system.

Since i have revert the changes wherever i done, but issue is same. i unable to find any thing from startsap.trc

- database and listener are running fine

- through <sid>adm user, R3trans -d is OK

ecdadm> R3trans -d

This is R3trans version 6.22 (release 720 - 03.06.11 - 17:57:00).

R3trans finished (0000).

while try to ecdadm>startsap

all the file are in place, but don't know why is the problem.

I fixed similar problems by changing server hostname in /sapmnt/<SID>/profile.

ex: START_SCS11_servername  -> START_SCS11_SERVERNAME 

I also change the hostname to upper case in new profiles.

and Yes, the hostname is inconsistent in my system.

Yes it work Perfectly fine after changing hostname from lower care to upper case.

it is working fine after changing hostname to lowercase to uppercase

and changed the START_ASCS01_india  to    START_ASCS01_INDIA

we are not using virtual server. but still i tried with host ECCDEV (Which is pigable and actual host name) but problem is still same.

The issue seems to be with startsap. Its considering the instance profile as start profile.

Can you delete obsolete or old profiles from ..../profile directory and try to restart the server?

Have you checked the environment variables for the user,you made any changes in /etc/* files?

Use the command

startsap all -v <virtual_hostname>

if you are using a virtual hostname which is pingable .

Also check the virtual hostname is mapped to an IP and the IP is attached to an ethernet card.
