Hi,
We are in production and there is a huge data in COPA.
Now the user wants to add additional value field.
What are the pre cautions we have to take before proceeding to touch the COPA?
Thanks,
Chitras

Hi ,
I think you need to deactive the operting concern and the creat a value field in dev server and trasnport it sequentaily the TRs to QA and PRD.
Thanks

Hi Prabhat,
I am not sure of deactivating the COPA . It may hamper the production .
After adding new value field the system regenerates . What will happen to old transactions.
If at any failure at the time of regeneration ( as we have more than 300 Million records) will the data be intact.
Being production issue I request you to give your thoughts and share yr experience as you may understand that being production issue we cant move on assumptions.
Appreciate to get yr experience on this pl.

Chitras
Generally, COPA is a data-pool to receive data from other modules. Check whether the COPA data are used by other modules, e.g. COPA planning can be used for SOP planning. Otherwise, just add the new value field as required. Only newly created data will be push into the new value fields after the value fields creation, unless you re-pull the existing data into COPA again by such as KE4F, KE4T, or KE4S, etc. Try to test in your QA system first.
