Dear SAP Support Team,
We are currently implementing SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud for our client ***REMOVED BY MODERAION*** and have successfully completed the Explore phase. We are now preparing to initiate the Central Business Configuration (CBC) for our development tenant.
Before proceeding, we seek clarification on the following points related to scope item activation and deactivation:
Scope Items Available Only During Initial Scoping
Could you please provide a comprehensive list of all scope items that can only be activated during the initial scoping phase of CBC? We would also appreciate details on their functional usability and impact.
Scope Items That Cannot Be Deactivated Once Activated
Kindly confirm which scope items, once activated and deployed, cannot be removed or deactivated in future CBC change projects. This will help us ensure proper planning and avoid irreversible configurations.
We understand that certain scope items are foundational and may have dependencies that restrict their flexibility post-deployment. If there is an official SAP document or Excel file (e.g., “Availability and Dependencies of Scope Items”) that outlines these constraints, please share the latest version or direct us to the appropriate location.
Looking forward to your guidance to ensure a smooth and compliant CBC configuration process.
Best regards,
***REMOVED BY MODERAION***

Hello ***REMOVED BY MODERAION***,
With the latest 2506 SAP Central Business Configuration release, a new filter has been introduced in the Define Scope app. This filter allows you to view scope items available during the Initial Scoping phase. For detailed information, you can refer to the SAP Community post What’s New in SAP Central Business Configuration 2506 FD2 and the KBA 3425018 - How to check whether a scope item is only available for initial scoping in SAP S/4HANA Clo...
Regarding scope item exclusions, please note that this action cannot be performed once certain activities are completed. Here are the two scenarios:
- If the Define Scope activity has been completed by clicking the "Complete Activity" button, workspace deletion is possible and you can start again in a new workspace without the need of reprovision.
- However, once the Deploy Scope and Organizational Structure activity is completed, the scope item content is automatically activated in your system. At this point, the workspace progresses to the Product-Specific Configuration phase, and deactivation by workspace deletion is no longer possible. If the scope item needs to be removed, a reprovisioning process will be required. This is outlined in the KBA 3255117 - Not possible to delete scope items (scenarios) after activating it - SAP for Me
Lastly, to check the available scope items and their provisioning status, you can use the Availability and dependencies of scope items list with the last updates. For guidance on utilizing this file is provided in the 3539934 - How-to use the "Availability and dependencies of scope items list" when activating Scope Items.
Additional information can also be found in the KBA 3122430 - Scope item activation request for SAP Central Business Configuration - SAP for Me
Best regards,
***REMOVED BY MODERAION***
