Dear FICO Experts,
I'm currently navigating an issue with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (2308 release) where end users are encountering a roadblock while attempting to clear payments using the Clear Payments app. The error message they face is quite explicit: "Maximum number of items in an FI document ('999') has been exceeded." This hiccup appears to stem from the constraints on the number of line items in a FICO document, specifically a journal entry.
In the quest to resolve this issue, the suggested solution involves deactivating document splitting for sales orders in SSCUI 103055. However, my concern deepens, particularly regarding journal entries already posted in the closed period of November, given that we find ourselves in January 2024. How does tweaking the configuration impact the line items in journal entries from closed periods? What precautionary measures can be implemented to address potential historical data issues while splitting the FI document, considering the constraints of closed accounting periods?
Your insights and expertise on these matters would be immensely valuable.
Best regards
AR
