Multiple depreciation areas in asset accounting reports (Depreciation Comparison or other)

My aim is to have a reporting tool similar to the Asset History Sheet, but with the selection of multiple depreciation areas.

The Asset History Sheet is based on the logical database ADA. So I looked up the concerning documentation (transaction SE36 -> Documentation) says:

You can specifically request up to three depreciation areas. You can also request all depreciation areas for an asset by entering "*" in the first depreciation area field on the initial screen. However, the only standard report that uses this function is the depreciation compare list. In the other reports you can only enter one depreciation area.

But if I give depreciation area * in the first selections field of the Depreciation Comparison (transaction AR08), I get the error AB010 ("You cannot request all the depreciation areas in this report").

If it is not the Depreciation Comparison, where I can take advantage of reporting multiple depreciation areas, is there any other report or program for this?

How would I build a reporting tool with the oportunity of selecting multiple depreciation areas?

Hi,

You can report on differences between depreciation areas by creating one or more depreciation area for reporting purposes only, i.e. a depreciation area which does not post in GL and for which 'area for reporting purposes only' is flagged. See screenshot in attachment for configuration of such a depreciation area.

In the asset history sheet you can select this depreciation area for reporting purposes only and report on differences in for example depreciation between different depreciation areas.

Dear David, did you find the appropriate way to cover your requirement? I have the same task, and am in search for suitable standard report, prior to go for development or query.Thank you.

Kind regards,

Dear Andrew,

unfortunately I have not yet found a suitable solution for me.

What I found out in the meantime is, that several ARxx transactions have different ways of selecting multiple deprecation areas, see for example:

AR20:

AR20 - multiple depreciations areas

AR22:

AR22 - multiple depreciations areas

AR23:

AR23 - multiple depreciations areas
