MRP with lot size HB and maximum stock level 1 not generating Planned order

so here is our issue:

MRP type PD

Lot size HB (so it should replenish to max stock level)

Max stock level = 1

actual stock = 0

MD04 shows a dep. requirement of 1 so the stock goes to -1

a planned order for 1 PC which brings the stock to 0.

when we run the MRP, no planned order is generated to replenish the stock.

we changed the MRP type to VB and V1 and reorder point 1:

the dependent requirement disappears from MD04 and the planned order brings the stock then to 1:

but this dependent requirement still exists even if it is not visible anymore!

why is it not visible? and why with PD/HB the system does not replenish the stock to maximum level?

Hi Alisa

In the lot sizing procedure customizing (transaction OMI4), you can choose if the maximum stock level will be calculated before or after covering requirements. The default setting for HB is to calculate before covering requirements, so you might need to create a new custom lot sizing procedure and change this setting.

Also, the calculation when using reorder point might be different. Check the information in the F1 help of setting Max. Stock Level in the lot-sizing procedure to understand the difference.
