Hello friends,
In our company, we would like to create PO from MRP for purchased materials. It works well when planning in the future (e.g. requested date is for 3 months forwards). But, it creates a PR when we are running late of material, so it means current date + planned delivered time. To sum up, when there is an exception with code = 30, it creates a PR instead of a PO.
What we are missing? We run MRP with settings = 3 for field Create Purchase Requisition.
Thanks and Kind Regards

Hello Xavier
By PO do you mean Purchase Orders or Planned Orders?
In standard, MRP cannot create Purchase Order, so I assume you are talking about Planned Orders.
You should check if there is an MRP Group defined for this material and if there is a creation indicator for this material. The creation indicator can define that purchase requisitions can be created within the opening period and that might be the cause of the issue.

Caetano

Hello Caetano,
Sorry, yes PO stands for Planned Orders.
I can give more details. If I run via MD02, it works as expected, creates PO instead of PR with Creation Indicator set to '3'.
If I run via MD01 it creates PR, only for this period. Checked MRP Group --> Creation Indicator set to '3' with opening period defined in scheduling margin key in material set to 0 days. According to my knowledge, priority in MD01 follows this logic. MRP Group --> Plant Parameters --> Settings in MD01, although we run via job in a daily basis.
Kind Regards
Hi
It looks there is misunderstanding on the standarad MRP Concept.
As per the Standard SAP Functionality, Outcome of the MRP Run is either Planned Order (or) Purchase Requistions only. System will never create the PO ( PO means Purchase Order), during the MRP Run.
If still there any questions, kindly elaborate , with Example.
