MRP Area: Create Material Assignments Automatically

Hi Experts

In MRP Area definition, there is check box available

If this checkbox is selected, you activate the automatic assignment of materials to the storage location MRP area as soon as the material is maintained for one of the storage locations of the MRP area.

However, when we extend or create the material to the storage location via MMSC or MRP views with Organizational level as Plant + Storage Location, the above information doesn't get updated

Did we misunderstand this checkbox?

Did you also assign the profile to the MRP Area in the MRP Area customizing (transaction OMIZ)

• Does the storage location already have a MARD entry before the MRP area is assigned via the MRP area profile?
• Is the MRP type set to 'ND' at plant level?

MARD entry for the corresponding Storage location was not present (for other sloc., it was). At plant level MRP type is X0
