What is the Purpose of Movement type 501 M and 551, Please explain me

Hi Lakshmi,

you can use the movement type transaction in OMJJ. In this tcode you can check all types of movement types and also which transaction allowed in the particular movement type.

Purpose of Mov type 501M : GI receipt to RTP (Returnable Transfer Packaging)

Purpose of Mov type 551: GI for scraping

Please revert back.

501 : <b>Goods receipt without purchase order</b>

in this mvmt type, the goods from the ventors that can be receipt with out the purchase order ,due to urgent or it may be the goods of repeated one.

551 : <b>Scrapping from unrestricted-use stock</b>

after the defeat in the component while in prodution , meant as the scrap.

<b>501</b> : Goods receipt without purchase order - unrestricted-use stock

This movement type is used for deliveries from vendors that are not based on a purchase order. Invoice verification is not possible for these goods receipts.

For a goods receipt for purchase order.

<b>551</b> : Scrapping from unrestricted-use stock

If you want to scrap compoenents without ref to order from unrestricted-use stock then use this movement type.

i am asking abt the Movement type 501 with Spl indicator M, Shall i use this Movement type to recive the Raw Material Scrap against the Production Order.

What are the Movement types can i use for Scraping of Raw Material with Referance to the Production Order?

Hi Lakshmi,

I dont know about 501 can be used or not.

But for scrapping..if scrap is happend during production for making an assembly then movement type will be 261 (goods issue to order)..the cost of scrap will be accounted to order and material which is produced.

If scrap happens before and after the production for example in handling in storage then use 551 movement typw. cost will eb accounted to GL account of material or to the cost center.

Hi Lakshmi,

Scrap cannot be returned to storage location. I think you want to re-use the scrap components which are issued to order.

I think you have to create an Z movement type like Z01 and use this for special purpose. This is possible..but apart from 261 and 551 there is no standard movement type for scrapping.

Please let me know the details scenario so we can give possible solutions.

Hi Tajuddin,

The Operation scrap Material is not returned to W/H through the System , But we want to store it Physically in some Place and Crush it monthly once. I will check it and reply you.

Hi Lakshmi,

You can use 551 or any custom develop movement type and maintain some storage location for scrap materials while performing scrap posting...then you will be having track on scrap quantity seperately.

Receipt w/o purchase order into warehouse

To bring the stock w/o PO

Hope it is 561 not 551

Mov Type : 561

Receipt per initial entry of stock balances into unr.-use 561

To maintain the initial stock balances
