Movement 501 M with inbound delivery

Dear Gurus,

In a scenario, inbound delivery is generated upon receiving respective EDI message from the vendor. The inbound delivery is generated with HUs within. The business requirement is to post these HUs as line items to 'M' (vendor owned returnable packaging) stock.

Normally, 501M is posted via MIGO, without Inbound Delivery.

Therefore, the question here is: how to post Goods Receipt to 'M' (vendor owned returnable packaging) stock, possibly via 501 M movement type based on Inbound Delivery? According to the standard settings only 501 is possible with determined ELP item category and it seems there is no possibility to add 'M' as special stock indicator.

Of course, any other solution is very welcomed!

You can definitely use delivery processing enhancement to adjust movement type data whichever way you need - see note 415716 - User exits in delivery processing for details on the user-exits.

I've used successfully USEREXIT_SAVE_DOC_BEFORE_PREP to implement bespoke scenarios around returnable packaging.
