MM01 field tax clasification in Sales Org1 population issue

Hi,
In MM01 we we try to create a material, we have a field called tax clasification in Sales Org1 tab, this tax clasisfication field is getting populated automatically when we enter plant, sales org and distribution channel.

This is happening for some materials and not for some materials. Please let me know ois there any config for this to auto populate the tax clasiifcation code based on company code or country or tax procedure. If yes where we need to check. Or is it some thing related tp custom code added to populate the tax clasification code.
