Migration Cockpit: Archived migrated data should be migrated again.

Scenario:
Migration using Migration Cockpit (with staging tables) into an existing, productive S/4HANA system.

Problem:
The customer wants to use archiving as a kind of fallback scenario. If the data quality of the already migrated data is not sufficient, it should be possible to delete it from the system using archiving function (SARA).
Once the source data has been corrected, it should be reloaded into the system using the Migration Cockpit.
What options do we have here?

Hi, @HeWag!

Specifically through the Migration Cockpit, we don't have any options to delete, revert or archive migrated data. This is mentioned in the KBA below:

  • 2812591 - Migration Cockpit: Not possible to reverse data migrated

The resolution of the KBA explains though that, since the app uses the business APIs to upload the data to the system, if the business area of the BAPI has an alternative to delete data, then it's possible that the migrated data can be deleted. For that, you can check the SAP Fiori Apps Reference Library.

Best regards,
Caio

Hi Caio,

it is clear to me, that I don't have the possibility to delete data using the Migration Cockpit.

But even if I delete the data with the Archiving Functions I'm not able to migrate the data again. The Migration Cockpit blocks this with the hint that the data was already migrated. What can I do to do the migration a second time after deleting the data using archiving?
