Hello SAP Community,
I’m currently working on a 1:1 migration project where we want to move our organizational structure from an ECC system (maintained via PPOMA/PPOME) over to the new Teams and Responsibilities approach in SAP S/4HANA (Fiori-based Flexible Workflow).
Goal: We need to replicate the existing org data—positions, relationships, cost center ownership, and approval responsibilities—so that we can leverage the Manage Teams and Responsibilities app in S/4HANA for Flexible Workflows.
Scale: It’s a large organizational structure, so manually recreating it is impractical.
1. Has anyone successfully performed an automated migration from PPOMA/PPOME (e.g., HRP1000/HRP1001 tables) into the new Teams & Responsibilities or Business Partner model used by S/4HANA Flexible Workflow?
2. Are there any SAP standard tools such as SAP Data Services, Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit (LTMC), or Migration Cockpit that directly support migrating Org Management (OM) objects to Teams & Responsibilities?
3. If no standard solution is available, would a custom ABAP extractor or program (reading from PPOMA/PPOME tables) and Fiori OData APIs be the recommended approach to bulk-load the data into S/4HANA?
4. Any best practices or gotchas for preserving existing approval rules (e.g., PFAC responsibilities, budget limits) so that they seamlessly transition to Flexible Workflow?
We’re aiming for as “1-to-1” a solution as possible. We recognize that there might need to be some re-mapping in S/4HANA, but if you have any experiences or guidance on how to minimize manual process, I’d greatly appreciate it.
