• Read KBA 2042164 - MMPV Period shifted by error to future period for Material Ledger active plant. 😥

Else

• Look at transaction MMPI or report RMMMINIT (but perform some test in a sandbox system)

Then

• Prevent this with 1082841 - MMPV/Close Periods : Prevent shifting to a future period by mistake

The error “Posting only possible in periods 2025/12 and 2025/11 in company code … (Message No. M7053)” occurs because the current posting period in Materials Management (MM) is misaligned. SAP is restricting postings to November and December 2025 instead of the actual current month. You need to check and adjust the MM period settings (MMRV, OMSY, MMPV) and ensure they match your financial posting periods

To resolve this, do the following steps mentioned below.

Check Current MM Period
Run transaction MMRV → Verify which period is set as current. If it shows November/December 2025 instead of April 2025 (for example), that’s the root cause.

Shift Periods
Use MMPV to shift the MM period to the correct month/year. Example: If you want April 2025 as current, run MMPV for April 2025.

Verify OMSY Settings
Transaction OMSY → Check the company code’s current period. Ensure it matches your intended posting month.

Check FI Periods
Transaction OB52 → Confirm that FI posting periods are open for the same month. MM and FI periods must align.

Check Posting Date in MIGO
Ensure the posting date entered in MIGO is within the valid MM period.
If no GI date is entered, SAP defaults to system date, which may be outside the valid range
