Hello,

Error message MD 510 Overflow More than 9999 items in BOM recursive

Please refer SAP note 42891 - Recursion check

Is this phantom assembly? Do you have same issue in MD02 too?

Thanks for the immediate response.

Yes, this is a phantom assembly. Not sure about MD02, will update in some time.

Could you please let me know what can be the root cause for the error/what other setting shall I check?

I am checking the not in parallel, will update about it soon.

Thanks again!

Hello,

Why are you running MD03 single item planning for phantom assembly?

For me it does not make any sense, you should run MD02 for header material in this case

For following BOM structure as an example

Header material - Phantom assembly - Component

Thanks!

Yes, MD02 should be used as it makes sense to do it for Multi level BoM.

So lastly, will that be the reason for that error? In MD02, due to recursive materials the error has occurred, right?

Hello,

I think this could be due to phantom assembly and MD03 for single item run.

Hello,

Have you ran MRP (MD02) for header/finished material?

Is it due to Recursiveness allowed indicator check is not active?

Yes, ran it for header material.

Hello,

Is there any recursion in BOM of header or phantom material?

Check any chnages in BOM.

Hello,

Can you please let me know how to find Recursive materials at one go..

There so so many components (1475) in BoM, it is not possible to go through each of them.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for referring the note.

Attached please find the error we saw in planning results.

Now if we check for recursive items, the indicator would be marked otherwise the BoM does not accept the recursive items to be saved.

Is there any workaround for this? untitled.png

Thank you.
