Hello,
While trying to post an invoice we encountered an issue with error message "Maximum number of line items reached in entry view.
Long text of error
NA F5727
Maximum number of items reached in entry view (long text)
Diagnosis
The maximum number of items in the entry view of a journal entry ('') has been exceeded.
System Response
Entry views in a journal entry have a three-digit item counter that restricts the number.
Procedure
If the documents come from previous applications (Sales and Distribution, Materials Management, Order Settlement, and so on), you can - and should - set summarization of the entry views or even complete suppression of the update of the entry views in Accounting. To do this, go to self-service configuration UI 106716 "Activate Summarization of Entry View". Also read the explanatory help text there.
The error message from system is suggesting to activate "Summarization of Entry View" configuration.
Could you please advise on all the potential downsides of this setting, if any? Such as:
- Will some information from postings be lost
- On which level the summarization is performed (which criteria from the line item has to be the same in order for system to summarize it in one line item, and is this criteria something we can additionally modify per our requirements, through standard customizing or through some BADI?)
- Any other downsides/issues that can occur
Thanks and regards,
