material to material transfer

Hi

I search on sdn but not get appropriate solution .how to make material to material transfer

between AFS material & Non AFS Material. Is it possible if yes, Please suggest sap process

Hi Ragini,

Both of your material types for AFS material & for Non AFS should have same behaviour in inventory management and financial accounting.

You can do material to material transfer with 309 movement type if

i)Unit of measurement for both materials are same
ii) Material master views for both materials are same
iii)Material type for both materials are same

Hi,

Go to T code: MB1B and enter the movement type 309 - used for Transferring Material stock to the Material stock.

Make sure -

1. UoM should be same

2. Price also should be same

3. Material type should be same for both materials.

or

Using T code: MIGO - you can do the transfer posting of material to material.

yes u can do material to material transfer by using 309 movement type.

1.need to create 2 mateirals like mat1: Milk, mat2: curd

2.unit of measure should be same in both materials

3.material type should be same for both materials

in MIGO you can do the transfer posting of material to material.

Before doing material to material transfer with 309 movement type, you must know  to have similarity:
1. Unit of measurement for both materials
2. Material master views for both materials
3. Material type for both materials.
4. Nature and Characters of Both Material types

If materials are having different material types (AFS material & Non AFS Material) and you are transferring with 309 movement type in MB1B t.code, then then valuation of material will changes by creating accounting documents as followings:
Inventory account of material type- AFS material: Cr
Inventory account of material type-Non AFS Material: Dr

Hi Biju, I have a problem with material-to-material transfer (MIGO 309).

When I do material transfer using MIGO (309), the system will post the inventory using Standard Price instead of Periodic Unit Price (PUP). The system will post the variance between Standard Price and PUP to Profit/Loss. When we sell this material the COGS will be inaccurate as the cost will be at standard cost instead of actual cost.

The materials have same:

1. Unit of measurement for both materials
2. Material master views for both materials
3. Material type for both materials.
4. Nature and Characters of Both Material types

Is there any solution if I want the system to use Periodic Unit Price instead of Standard Price?

Please refer screenshot below. Slop and Heavy Glycol are finished product. When I transfer Slop to Glycol the system use USD683.48 (Standard price) instead of USD564.03 (PUP)

Your second point is not valid. It is advisable to have same price but not prerequisite.

Hi,

For Material to material transfer prerequisite is both material should be managed in same base unit of management.

But still I will suggest have trial, If you have AFS material (Apparel &Footwear) & non AFs material.

Hi Ragini,

User transaction code : MB1B that is Transfer Posting and
material movement 309.

Make sure both the materials have same Base Unit of Measure.

Confirm the accounting effects with your FI consultant.
