hi,

Check the base unit of measure of both material must be same

Valuation class for both material should be same

If you having subcontracting process then material to material stock transfer process considers as sale purchases excise point of view

Hi,

With regards to your query, Material to Material transfer is a standard sap functionality.

The only condition to do this is that both the materials must have the same Base Unit of Measure.

Upon execution of mat to mat transfer movement type 309, stocks of the material A will be transferred to material B. Along with this, the valuation price will also be brought into the new material B.

Hope this help.

Dear Ganesh ,

Many thanks for your speedy reply.I just had one more query regarding this ,is this supported by SAP standard system or we have to do any config in obyc or somewhere other to allow this .I had this query because some of my fellow consultants are of the view that the standard system does not allow transfer posting from material to material with different material types .

Please reply .I would be highly obliged.

Thanks & Regards

There are certainly much more checks than just the base unit of measure that are performed by SAP in transaction MMAM.

The base unit is the most known problem that can occur.

Execute the change, SAP will give you a log if it is not possible or if you have to do additional work to do in MM02 after MMAM execution.

Especially if you have different valuation classes in the 2 material types then you may have to delete open purchase orders and production orders to make it possible.

Details can be read in OSS note 160970
