Material Planning based on product specification

Hello community,

we have have a challenge relating to "material planning based on product specification". All finished products have identified stock type "Mandatory Specified Stock" and this is a situation we cannot change due to process related topics.

Generally only specific customer demands create demands for products with mandatory product specification.

Nevertheless, we want to do material planning for some product specifications for specific products based on safety stocks and forecasts. The reason is that sales volumes for some product specifications are more or less steady.

The problems are...

Safety Stock:

Entering a safety stock in planning data of materials, the safety stock demand shows up for the product without product specification. There is no possibility enter safety stocks on product specification level, as we need it.

Forecasting:

Demand plans are only based on product level. It is not possible to create demand plans von product specification level.

Do you have some approaches to deal with this situation?

Many thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Matthias Gravendyck

Hi matthias_g,

No, we can't do the Material Planning for Safety Stock (Consumption-Based Planning) and Demand Plans (Demand-Driven Planning) based on Product Specification.

.

.

Let me know if it works and mark the question as answered if your requirement is met or comment back for any further queries.

Hi anantcsg,

thanks for your fast response!

This was the answer I expected.

However, the requirements are urgent.

Do you have any idea if there is a suitable workaround to enable a kind of material planning based on product specifications?.

Best regards,

Matthias
